Every once in a while, in our line of work, you get to place your hands on the past. So…when we were asked to design a sexy underground lounge in the unused basement of one of Boston’s oldest police stations, we were totally down. We wanted to be sure to pay tribute to the history of the space, but we didn’t want to be cliche. We felt a classic room fitting of its Back Bay location with a hint of art deco detective vibes was the way to go. The 27′ long bar with its custom built clock and brass details is the focal point of the room. Seating is classic in design but loungy so the room feels comfortable. Guests enter the space in one of two dramatic ways… down the custom built backlit hidden steel staircase, or through the discreet double doors tucked in the alley behind the building.
