ASSEMBLY DESIGN STUDIO is a critically acclaimed boutique restaurant design firm located in Boston, Massachusetts. Created by Erica and Michael Diskin, Assembly (ADS) has been unapologetically chasing the perfect dining experience for over two decades. With over fifty high profile restaurant projects in our portfolio – including legendary spots like Prima in Charlestown, MA… Ledger in Salem, MA… and The Shipwright’s Daughter in Mystic, CT – ADS has been lucky to work with many of the industries top owners, operators, and chefs.
ERICA DISKIN – Owner/Producer/Design Director – Erica got her start chasing some of the unique creative opportunities that were available in corporate real estate marketing during the historic revitalization of Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood. She was eager, in early, and had unique access to tens of thousands of square feet of raw industrial loft space to be used as she seemed fit. This resource helped her build an impressive portfolio of national brand launches, luxury fashion shows, and occassional Hollywood film productions. Eventually these highly successful, highly visible events caught the attention of the hospitality industry and she was off and running. Her hands on approach to each restaurant project paired with her love of a dirty construction site has helped make her one of New England’s most sought after designers.
MICHAEL DISKIN – Owner/Designer/Photographer – Mike got his start in the media. As creative director of the Boston based Phoenix Media Communication Group, Michael oversaw design and production for legendary lifestyle and entertainment properties like The Boston Phoenix, Stuff magazine, and WFNX radio. This lead to a second act as a professional photographer where Michael specialized in travel, commercial real estate, and live music. He’s worked closely with some of the country’s top chefs on the opening of their new restaurants, he’s photographed some of the most beautiful people and places in the world, and his ability to understand how his work is consumed by the viewer has afforded him success.
MORGAN SCHAFFER – Production Manager / Floral Designer – Morgan cut her teeth in retail where she learned how to produce a proper public appearance while juggling a steady flow of purchasing and shipping curve balls. Her on-site ability to anticipate potential issues paired with her polished front of house personality has made her an indispensable member of the our team.
SAMANTHA CLAPTON –Senior Project Designer – With a masters degree in interior architecture and an undergrad in psychology, Sam couldn’t be more perfectly prepared to be part of our crazy crew. With years of experience working in the hospitality industry and a background in cabinetry design she brings valuable insight into the functionality of every design.
